Anti-PKDREJ antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein polycystin family receptor for egg jelly. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 2253 amino acid residues and a mass of 255.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is notably expressed in the testis. A member of the Polycystin protein family, PKDREJ is suspected to have a central role in fertilization. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include polycystic kidney disease (polycystin) and REJ homolog (sperm receptor for egg jelly homolog, sea urchin), polycystic kidney disease and receptor for egg jelly-related protein, polycystin (PKD) family receptor for egg jelly, and PKD and REJ homolog. PKDREJ gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, chimpanzee and chicken species. These PKDREJ antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
