Anti-VCIP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The VCIP antigen is another term for the human protein phospholipid phosphatase 3, encoded by the PLPP3 gene. The protein is known to function in Bergmann glial cell differentiation and blood vessel development, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 311 residues and a mass of 35.1 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. The VCIP protein is a member of the PA-phosphatase related phosphoesterase protein family. Other alias names for VCIP include Dri42, LPP3, and PAP2B.
