Anti-MED25 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mediator complex subunit 25. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 747 amino acid residues and a mass of 78.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Mediator complex subunit 25 protein family, MED25 is a known component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. The MED25 gene has been associated with the disease, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Synonyms for this target antigen include ARC/mediator transcriptional coactivator subunit, activator interaction domain-containing protein 1, activator-recruited cofactor 92 kDa component, and mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 25. A number of MED25 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
