Anti-NOP2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein NOP2 nucleolar protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 812 amino acid residues and a mass of 89.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and cerebral cortex. A member of the RsmB/NOP protein family, NOP2 is known to be involved in ribosomal large subunit assembly. Synonyms for this target antigen include NOP120, NSUN1, p120, probable 28S rRNA (cytosine(4447)-C(5))-methyltransferase, NOL1/NOP2/Sun domain family, member 1, and NOL1. NOP2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of NOP2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunofluorescence is also a common application.
