Anti-TRMT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein tRNA methyltransferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 659 amino acid residues and a mass of 72.2 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the Trm1 protein family. The TRMT1 gene has been associated with the disease, Intellectual developmental disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include N(2),N(2)-dimethylguanosine tRNA methyltransferase, TRM1 tRNA methyltransferase 1 homolog, tRNA 2,2-dimethylguanosine-26 methyltransferase, and tRNA (guanine(26)-N(2))-dimethyltransferase. TRMT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. Some TRMT1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
