Anti-Epicardin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Epicardin is a known alias name of the protein transcription factor 21, encoded by the TCF21 gene in humans. This 179-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in epithelial-mesenchymal interactions in kidney and lung morphogenesis that include epithelial differentiation and branching morphogenesis. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. Other synonyms for Epicardin include POD1, POD1, and bHLHa23.
