Anti-USP38 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ubiquitin specific peptidase 38. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1042 amino acid residues and a mass of 116.5 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in skeletal muscle. A member of the Peptidase C19 protein family, USP38 is known to be involved with protein deubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include deubiquitinating enzyme 38, ubiquitin specific protease 38, ubiquitin thioesterase 38, ubiquitin thiolesterase 38, ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 38, and ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 38. USP38 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some USP38 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
