Anti-ST6GalNAc antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ST6GalNAc antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ST6GALNAC4 gene, which encodes ST6 N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 4. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of ST6GalNAc has a canonical amino acid length of 302 residues and a protein mass of 34.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi of cells. Other names for this target antigen include IV, SIAT3-C, and SIAT3C.
