Anti-FTSJ1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein FtsJ RNA 2'-O-methyltransferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 329 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the RNA methyltransferase RlmE protein family, FTSJ1 is known to be involved with protein translation. The FTSJ1 gene has been associated with the disease, Intellectual developmental disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include JM23, MRX44, MRX9, SPB1, TRMT7, XLID9, putative tRNA (cytidine(32)/guanosine(34)-2'-O)-methyltransferase, and CDLIV. FTSJ1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some FTSJ1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
