SSD-1, or Tubulin folding cofactor D, is a human gene encoded by TBCD. It may also be known as: Tubulin-specific chaperone D; tfcD; Tubulin-folding cofactor D; Beta-tubulin cofactor D. The encoded protein has an amino acid length of 1192 and a mass of 132.6 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. SSD-1 is a member of the TBCD family. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Fly, Mouse, Rat, Zebrafish, Frog, Chicken.
