Anti-subtilase antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target subtilase is a known alias name of the protein proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 5, encoded by the PCSK5 gene in humans. This 1860-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a serine endoprotease that processes various proproteins by cleavage at paired basic amino acids, recognizing the RXXX[KR]R consensus motif. The protein is secreted and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in T-lymphocytes. Other synonyms for subtilase include PC5, PC6, and PC6A. Indicated applications for subtilase antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry.
