Sometimes our lab needs to compare many samples under different conditions therefore 15 well gels are a must. With at least 2 wells used up as loading ladder, we need high quantity of wells in order to consistently compare samples.

The bolt gels require some flushing before loading samples

Results Summary

The gel bands are even if you run around 80V, 120V for slightly uneven, and higher voltage if you don't care about how the bands look. However with allowing us to load up to 30uL of samples in a 15-well gel system, this has allowed us to handle more quantity of lysates without compromising quality.

This bolt system has worked very well. Just make sure to also use the bolt LDS sample and running buffer (if you are switching from Nupage system).
