We were looking for an antibody to test the time-dependent role of a growth factor on Ref-1 protein level in mammalian smooth cells. Ref-1 is a well-known transcription factor which regulates many genes. Our antibody search was ended with the Santa Cruz Biotechnology Inc antibody, and it was inspiring to see the antibody specificity which was indicated in the flyer. Thus, to complete our goal, the log phase of growth, arrested cells were treated with specific growth factor for a different period. From these cells, the protein extract was prepared and resolved in 10 % SDS-PAGE. The resolved protein was western transferred on the nitrocellulose membrane and probed for Ref-1 using Santa Cruz Biotechnology Inc Ab.
