Company:

Sigma-Aldrich (Millipore Sigma)

Product Name:

Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA)

Catalog Number:

A3059-100G

This important protein from cow serum is very useful for molecular biology applications. I have used this for blocking buffer for Western blot, and protein standard. It helps to get rid of non-specific binding if used as blocking buffer for western blots. I used 3% BSA as blocking buffer.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Western blot, ELISA, Blocking buffer, Protein standard for unknown protein concentration

Starting Material

Protein concentration from cell/tissues, PVDF membrane

Tips

Use fresh, centrifuge or filter using 0.45micron for further use

Results Summary

This is a very good blocking buffer. I have used in my western blotting experiments.

The Bottom Line

This is a very highly purified fraction V. Used in several experiment. Give great results. such blocking PVDF or Nitrocellulose membrane before primary antibody incubation. I have used in my experiments and give fantastic results. I recommend others to use for their respective experiments.
