The general focus of my work is to analyze the response different cell types in mouse lungs after pulmonary bacteria infection. This antibody was used as an additional marker to identify CD11b+ and CD103+ dendritic cells in mouse lung tissue.
Flow Cytometry
Collagenase-digested mouse lung tissue
1:200 for 20 minutes on ice
24G2 in 3% BSA in PBS for 10 minutes on ice prior to staining in 3% BSA
Fixed with 4% formaldehyde for 30 minutes

Flow cytometer (BD LSRII)
The CD24 labeling was specific, but appeared as a gradient rather than a clear peak. However, there was clear separation between CD24- and CD24+ cells.

Specific for CD24, able to separate + and - populations
This marker is relatively dim on DCs, so the APC fluorophore is a good choice to easily distinguish cell populations
