Our lab studies the role of mTOR signaling in CD8 T cell differentiation and function. In order to study this process, we perform a lot of adoptive transfer experiments of donor transgenic T cells (CD90.1) into different WT B6 congenic hosts (CD90.2). In order to identify the donor T cells, we use CD90.1 to distinguish host versus donor. This marker is quite reliable since it separates quite well from the host. The AF700 Thy1.1 antibody fits nicely into certain panels since it's usually a dim channel compared to other brighter channels; however, this antibody is quite bright. We were able to readily identify the donor cells using this robust and bright antibody.

Summary

The Good

Very robust and bright antibody to identify donor cells.

The Bad

Please make sure to titrate the antibody before use since it can be quite bright.

The Bottom Line

Truly a great antibody to fit into any multi-parameter flow panels. Since AF700 is usually on the brighter side, this antibody fits nicely into the panel to look at more important markers from the donor cells.
