N-cadherin (neural cadherin) is commonly expressed by cancer cells of different tissue origin. This protein is important for homotypic (e.g., tumor cell-tumor cell) and heterotypic (e.g., tumor cell-endothelail cell) inter-cellular interactions. We analyzed the expression of N-cadherin in comparison with the expression of E-cadherin to determine the extent of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in metastatic tumor cells.

This mouse monoclonal antibody nicely recognizes one protein band with an apparent mol. wt. of ~135 kDa, which corresponds to expected mol. mass of human N-cadherin.
The image demonstrates imilar levels of N-cadherin in human tumor cells, which have high, low and no detectable levels of E-cadherin.
The mAb 610921 appears to be specific and sensitive.

This antibody is highly recommended for detection of N-cadherin in human tumor cell lysates by western blotting.
