Detection of vimentin is important in the studies of epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), in which the induction of vimentin expression can serve as an EMT marker. We performed a comparative analysis of vimentin expression in several human tumor cell lines exhibiting different levels of dissemination in animal cancer models. Vimentin expression was analyzed in the lysates of tumor cell lysates by western blotting with the murine anti-vimentin monoclonal antibody, V-9.

West Pico
The V9 mouse mAb against human vimentin detected a protein band of ~57 kDa, which corresponds to an expected mol. wt. of vimentin.
The image shows high and comparable levels of vimentin expression in the lysates of human tumor cells.
The antibody V9 appears very specific as it produced only one protein band with the expected mol. wt. ~57 kDa.
None detected
This antibody is highly recommended for detection of vimentin in human tumor cells by western blotting.
