Our research is focused on repair and regeneration of lung tissue. The ImmEdge pen is used in immunofluorescent staining of lung tissue. We look for numerous protein markers that identify healthy vs diseased cells. I selected this product because it is very important to have a working hydrophobic barrier to prevent your controls from bleeding over into your antibody staining. I selected this pen because I was having trouble with a different brand.
Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization
Frozen or Paraffin human and mouse embedded slides
1. Shake pen vigorously2. Make sure most of the liquid is sucked away from your tissue sections or cystospins3. Outline your sections or cells with the pen4. Let the ImmEdge reagent dry ~ 10-15 seconds before immersing in aqueous solutions.
Store pen tip down. Be sure to rinse slides before using ImmEdge pen.
I really like this pen because the hydrophobic barrier stays intact. When using comparable products I have experienced the hydrophobic barrier becoming dislodged from the slide and it has ruined my experiments a few times.
