Product Name:

Doublecortin Antibody (DCX)

Catalog Number:

4604

This product is used to characterize neurons in different developmental stages. It was specifically chosen to distinguish immature neurons from neural progenitor cells.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Primary Rat Cortical Neurons

Primary Incubation

1:500 overnight at 4 degrees C in 3% BSA in PBS

Blocking Agent

10% BSA in PBS

Secondary Incubation

1:2000 with AlexaFluor goat anti-rabbit 488 in 3% BSA in PBS for 45 minutes at room temperature

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

Keyence BZ-9000 Fluorescence Microscope

Results Summary

This antibody contributed to identifying neurons that were developmentally past the neural progenitor stage, but not yet fully mature neurons. This antibody also helped identify neurons that had successfully exited the cell cycle, and can be used to visualize both the cell body and arborizations.
