Ion proton /ion torrent NGS sequencer works on the semiconductor sequencing. The sequencing of the RNA samples can be multiplexed using the barcode which is unique to a different sample. Ion xpress RNA Seq barcode is used for coding the different RNA samples.

During the library preparation of the RNA samples, the fragmented mRNA is reverse transcribed with superscript III reverse transcriptase. The cDNA can now be amplified using platinum PCR supermix and Ion xpress RNA seq barcode primers, which can be used for coding each sample with a different barcode.
This kit can be used during small RNA library preparation.
