Product Name:

ReadyTag anti-GFP

Catalog Number:

RT0265

This antibody was used to detect over-expressed fluorescent proteins transfected in 293T cells via immunoblot. The antibody was very specific for A. victoria-derived fluorescent proteins but not coral-derived fluorescent proteins.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Western Blot

Sample

Transfected 293T cells

Primary Incubation

2 hours shaking at 1:5000 at room temperature in blocking agent

Blocking Agent

5% milk in TBST

Secondary Incubation

Goat anti-mouse (Santa Cruz Biotechnology) 1 hour shaking at 1:10,000

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

Western bright ECL

Results Summary

This antibody detected several A. victoria-derived fluorescent proteins, including EGFP, mCerulean, MT-Sapphire and mCitrine. It was not able to detect fluorescent proteins from Coral ssp (Discosoma, Galaxae and Fungia). All fluorescent proteins were visible under confocal microscopy. Two non-specific bands were seen: 120kDa and 25kDa, but these were minor.
