Product Name:

Recombinant Human VEGF 165 Protein, CF

Catalog Number:

293-VE-010/CF

VEGFA induces human retinal endothelial cell migration. VEGFA was used at a concentration of 40 ng/ml and the migration of human retinal endothelial cells was measured by a wound healing assay.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Cell migration assay

Starting Material

Human retinal endothelial cells

Protocol Overview

Cells were seeded in IBIDI chambers and once the cells reach near to confluent, the cells were quiesced for overnight. The cells were treated with VEGFA and the migration of the cells was measured as a percent of wound closure.

Tips

The endothelial cells tend to detach while washing so care must be taken while changing the media after quiescing the cells.

Summary

The Good

This is a best agonist to study the mechanisms of angiogenesis.

The Bad

Little expensive

The Bottom Line

VEGFA is a potent mediator of angiogenesis and it induces various signaling molecules involved in angiogenesis!
