Product Name:

Anti-TOMM20 antibody - Mitochondrial Marker

Catalog Number:

ab78547

This antibody (ab78547) was used to perform immunofluorescence microscopy on HeLa cells to detect endogenous TOMM20 in the mitochondria. ab787547 showed strong immunoreactivity that was consistent mitochondria. Background levels were low and the staining was not as clear as mitotracker from Thermofisher. This antibody is a good choice for multicolor microscopy.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

HeLa cells fixed with 3.7% paraformaldehyde

Primary Incubation

1 hour at room temperature in blocking agent at 1:300

Blocking Agent

PBS in 1% normal goat serum and 0.1% triton x-100

Secondary Incubation

Goat anti-rabbit conjugated to Alexa 568 for 1 hour at room temperature (1:300)

Tertiary Incubation

DAPI

Detection

Confocal microscopy

Results Summary

This antibody showed good results in HeLa cells. The staining was not as robust as it is with mitotracker, but the staining was consistent with mitochondria.
