This antibody (322588) was used to perform immunofluorescence microscopy on HeLa cells to detect endogenous microtubules. 322588 showed strong immunoreactivity that was consistent with microtubules. Background levels were low. This antibody is a good choice for multicolor microscopy, but the price makes alternatives such as 12G10 from DSHB a better choice.
Immunofluorescence
HeLa cells fixed with 3.7% paraformaldehyde
1 hour room temperature at 1:500 in blocking agent
PBS + 1% normal goat serum and 0.1% triton x-100
DAPI
None
Confocal microscopy
This antibody works well for immunofluorescence. There was strong and specific staining in Hela cells.
N/A
Strong and specific antibody
Too expensive
Alternatives such as 12G10 are less expensive and show comparable results using anti-mouse secondary antibodies conjugated to Alexa Fluors
