One of the studies in our lab is the proliferation of transferred T cells in a donor mouse organ. To do this, we use donor and recipient mice that express different alloantigens of CD45. Thus, we are able to stain for both CD45 molecules and determine which cells are from the donor and which are from the recipient. We use this antibody for both genotyping out genetic CD45.2 mouse line and for differentiating between CD45.1 and CD45.2 expressing T cells. We selected an antibody with FITC because it isn't very bright, but we expect to have a large number of CD45.2 cells so we want to reduce spillover.

LSR II
We have transgenic mice that only express CD45.1 and no CD45.2 on cells. We were able to use this antibody to confirm that these mice only express CD45.2 alloantigen.

Not as bright, good for many cells
Good antibody for staining CD45.2 specific cells.
