STAT3 (Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3) is transcription factor belongs to STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT3 is phosphorylated by receptor associated Janus kinases (JAK), form homo- or heterodimers and translocate to the cell nucleus where they acts as transcription activators. STAT3 plays a key role in cell growth and apoptosis. The present study aims at checking the expression of STAT3 in Human Retinal Microvascular Endothelial Cells by Western Blot. The antibody (sc-482) identified STAT3 at around 91 kDa.
