Company:

Santa Cruz

Product Name:

EGFR (E-8) antibody

Catalog Number:

sc-374607

Mouse mAb sc-374607 against EGFR from Santa Cruz was used in western blotting for detection of EGFR in the lysates of human tumor cells. The antibody produced detected EGFR in a proper region of ~180 kDa, but the protein was detected as a double-band.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Western Blot

Sample

Tumor cell lysates

Primary Incubation

Overnight, at 4-8 degrees Celsius, with rocking, at 1 ug/mL in 5% milk/PBS/0.05% Tween 20

Blocking Agent

5% milk in PBS/0.05% Tween-20 (5% milk/PBS/Tw)

Secondary Incubation

Goat anti-Mouse IgG HRP-conjugated antibody # 7076 from Cell Siganaling; 1:3,000

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

SuperSignal West Pico Chemiluminescent Substrate (Thermo Scientific)

Results Summary

The mouse mAb sc-374607 produced overall good results, but the EGFR protein was detected as a double band, which did not happen with other anti-EGFR antibodies tested in parallel.

Additional Notes

The antibody appeared specific since no additional bands were detected through the whole length of the blot.
