Company:

BD Horizon

Product Name:

Fixable Viability Stain 780

Catalog Number:

565388

This fixable viability stain was used to discriminate dead cells in primary murine tumor cells. Freshly isolated cells were stained with FVS780 followed by incubation with fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies. The nice feature of this product is that the cells can be fixed afterwards (if neccessary), while preserving the viability staining (unlike other conventional viability dyes).

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Flow cytometry

Starting Material

Murine tumor cells

Protocol Overview

Frehsly isolated cells were incubated with FVS780 (1:1000) in FACS staining buffer for 15min at 4C.

Tips

Incubation with FVS780 can be performed before antibody staining (as recommended by the company) or at the same time without losing any signal

Results Summary

Easy discrimination of live and dead cells, with no difference in signal before or after fixation.

Summary

The Good

Bright, can be used on fixed and unfixed cells

The Bad

No complaints

The Bottom Line
