Niemann-Pick disease, type C1 is caused by mutations in the NPC1 gene. It is also called a lipid storage disorder caused by altering the lipid metabolism and accumulation of lipids. Here we studied the time course effect of thrombin induced NPC1 expression in macrophages.

Summary

The Good

There is no/less background, the antibody is very efficient and the signal is very good.

The Bad

Some non-specific bands detected with high intensity and to get the signal, it takes some time.

The Bottom Line

The antibody is very good and the signal is strong enough. It takes some time to to get the signal and we have to run at least 8% gel for nice separation to get the appropriate band. Overall, it is a highly recommended antibody for western blot.
