There are many SYBR green mixes in the market, and all companies make out that theirs is the best! However, we have tested SsoAdvanced™ Universal SYBR® Green Supermix from Bio-Rad against some of the leading market contenders and always found this one to be superior (higher sensitivity, bright signal, ample product). It is also consistent from batch to batch.
Quantitative real time PCR
DNA (cDNA or gDNA)
The protocol is simple and straightforward. Just mix the reagent with your DNA in a 96 or 384 well plate, seal and read on a qPCR machine.
Avoid too many freeze-thaw cycles
In this experiment (shown in the figure) we ran serial dilutions of cDNA from a lymphoma cell line, testing for a relatively low-level mRNA (which had been converted to cDNA by reverse transcription). The assay shows good amplification, high efficiency, and excellent reproducibility among replicates.
