Adult neurogenesis in rat olfactory bulb was investigated in this study. To specifically detect type 2a neural stem cell in the olfactory bulb of adult, anti-Tbr2 (ab23345) antibody from Abcam was used.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunohistochemistry

Sample

olfactory bulb of adult rat

Primary Incubation

1:800 for 36hr at 4C

Blocking Agent

3% serum plus 0.3% Triton-X 100 in PBS

Secondary Incubation

Alexa Fluor 488 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) 1:1000 for 1hr at 25C

Tertiary Incubation

NA

Detection

Confocal imaging

Results Summary

The type 2 neural stem cells were located in the outer layers of the olfactory bulb as literature demonstrated. The nuclear part of the cell was labeled, which consistent with its role as a transcriptional factor.
