Apolipoprotein D (ApoD)
From BioVendor
ApoD is a glycoprotein associated with HDL and is involved in lipid transport system in plasma. ApoD may play an important role in oxidative stress and in the control of food intake and body weight. The normal plasmatic apoD levels are about 120 mg/l. Different levels were found in pathological states, e.g. gross cystic disease, schizophrenia, Nieman-Pick Type C disease. Plasma apoD levels are significantly reduced in patients with Tangier disease and hyperchylomicronemia. The assay has been validated to measure apoD in serum, plasma and urine. more »
