Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with Enrofloxacin antigen. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Enrofloxacin specific antibody and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated anti-antibody. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between pre-coated Enrofloxacin and Enrofloxacin in standards or samples with the Enrofloxacin special antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of Enrofloxacin in the standards or samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

The long-term edible food with low Enrofloxacin residue is harmful to human health and results in occurrence of food-borne disease. The method of instrumental analytical is major to detect Enrofloxacin, but it needs expensive instruments, professional operators and complex pre-treatment; While the method of enzyme linked immunoassay has advantages with simple, rapid, high sensitivity, good specificity and low cost.
