anti-beta-2 Microglobulin Antibody

Description

Product Characteristics:
Beta 2 Microglobulin non-covalently associates with the 44 kDa alpha chain to form the HLA Class I antigen complex. Human beta 2 Microglobulin associated with HLA Class I antigens are expressed on many types of cells including lymphocytes, thymocytes, monocytes, granulocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and epithelial cells. It is absent on erythrocytes.

Synonyms: B2M, Beta 2 microglobulin precursor, Beta chain of mhc class 1 proteins, Hdcma22p.

Target Information: This gene encodes a serum protein found in association with the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I heavy chain on the surface of nearly all nucleated cells. The protein has a predominantly beta-pleated sheet structure that can form amyloid fibrils in some pathological conditions. A mutation in this gene has been shown to result in hypercatabolic hypoproteinemia.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
