Description
Product Characteristics:
Pancreatic lipase, is involved in the hydrolysis of dietary triglycerides to fatty acids in the intestine. This hydrolysis, which is initiated in the stomach by gastric lipase, is essential for the intestinal absorption of long-chain triglyceride fatty acids.
Subcellular location: Secreted
Synonyms: PL, Pancreatic lipase, Pancreatic triacylglycerol lipase, pancrelipase, PTL, LIPP_HUMAN.
Target Information: Plays an important role in fat metabolism. It preferentially splits the esters of long-chain fatty acids at positions 1 and 3, producing mainly 2-monoacylglycerol and free fatty acids, and shows considerably higher activity against insoluble emulsified substrates than against soluble ones
