Recombinant Pig Interleukin-1 Alpha (IL-1 alpha) is a recombinant protein corresponding to aa 113-270 of native pig IL-1 alpha.
IL-1 is a inflammatory cytokine produced by activated macrophages. IL-1 is active in the inflammatory reaction and in driving Th1 and Th17 inflammatory responses. IL-1 acts on Th cells and causes them to secrete IL-2, which induces T cells to undergo mitosis and clonal expansion (Straw Barbara, Diseases of Swine -9th edition)
