The Foundation For A Great Picture
Jul 30 '07
Advances in image-capture technologies have led to an increased demand for charged-couple device (CCD) imaging systems. Resolution (pixel and bit size capacity) is the most important factor to consider when in the market for an imaging system. Determining whether the camera is cooled is also critical because cooling improves sensitivity to low light intensities (including ultraviolet and visible wavelengths). Advanced frame rate, zoom and noise reduction capabilities are an added bonus. For some, it may be necessary to purchase a package that includes a camera, software, computer and printer. Others may only require a camera, in which case software functionality is key. Is the camera software compatible with your system and does it fulfill your imaging requirements? Some packages will also include several post-imaging analysis tools. Asking for a demo or software tutorial prior to purchase may also enable one to determine ease of use. Whether your goal is to image chemiluminescent gels or multi-fluorescent animal tissue, these imaging systems are available for all of your photography needs. Check out the systems below for a sampling of what’s available.
