Many of the downstream applications for PCR require the PCR products to be extremely clean. The use of magnetic beads has now offered an alternative to traditional PCR clean-up, ensuring DNA samples that have been isolated quickly with ultra high purity. Magnetic PCR purification kits purify DNA fragments via selective precipitation onto magnetic beads, followed by magnetic separation from solution and wash removal of contaminants like reaction salts, detergents, etc. In addition to the advantages of high purity DNA samples, these kits also cut down sample preparation time (to minutes, in most cases) and outside contamination is reduced as the entire process typically occurs in a single reaction tube.
