SP6 RNA Polymerase is a type of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase originally isolated from the SP6 Bacteriophage. It is highly promoter-specific and will only produce transcripts from a DNA template led by the SP6 promoter. Commercial SP6 RNA Pol is typically recombinantly expressed from E. coli and are suitable for applications of template generation for in vitro translation, hybridization probe generation, RNA labeling, and other types of RNA synthesis.
