The GPR143 protein is described to be 404 amino acid residues in length and 43.9 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the lysosomes and cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is notably expressed at high levels in the retina, including the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and in melanocytes.
