GAL3ST1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein galactose-3-O-sulfotransferase 1, which is encoded by the GAL3ST1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the transfer of a sulfate group to position 3 of non-reducing beta-galactosyl residues in glycerolipids and sphingolipids, therefore participates in the biosynthesis of sulfoglycolipids. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 423 residues, a mass of 48.8 kDa, and is a member of the Galactose-3-O-sulfotransferase protein family. It is known to be localized in the golgi and is reported to be expressed in kidney proximal tubule, gastric mucosa and adenocarcinoma. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. Other alias names for this target include galactosylceramide sulfotransferase, 3'-phosphoadenosine-5'-phosphosulfate:GalCer sulfotransferase, cerebroside (3'-phosphoadenylylsulfate:galactosylceramide 3') sulfotransferase, and CST.
