B3GNT5 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein UDP-GlcNAc:betaGal beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 5, which is encoded by the B3GNT5 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a reported Beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase that plays a key role in the synthesis of lacto- or neolacto-series carbohydrate chains on glycolipids, notably by participating in biosynthesis of HNK-1 and Lewis X carbohydrate structures. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 378 residues, a mass of 44.1 kDa, and is a member of the Glycosyltransferase 31 protein family. It is known to be localized in the golgi and is widely expressed across many tissue types. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. Other alias names for this target include BGnT-5, beta 1,3 N-acetyglucosaminyltransferase Lc3 synthase, beta-1,3-Gn-T5, beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 5, and lactosylceramide 1,3-N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminyltransferase.
