G6PD ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, which is encoded by the G6PD gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the rate-limiting step of the oxidative pentose-phosphate pathway, which represents a route for the dissimilation of carbohydrates besides glycolysis. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 515 residues, a mass of 59.3 kDa, and is a member of the Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase protein family. It is known to be localized in the membrane and cytoplasm. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally acetylated. The G6PD gene has been associated with the disease, Anemia. Other alias names for this target include glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase, epididymis secretory sperm binding protein, and G6PD1.
Some G6PD ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 15.625 pg/mL and as high as 100 µg/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
