The ICE(rel)II ELISA kits listed below utilize specific antibodies for the plate-based assay of ICE(rel)II in various samples. ICE(rel)II is another term for the CASP4 gene, which encodes the protein, caspase 4 in humans. It has been reported that ICE(rel)II plays a role in the apoptotic pathway and inflammatory response pathways, among other functions. Structurally, the CASP4 protein is 377 amino acid residues in length and 43.3 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 5 protein isoforms have been identified. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane, mitochondria, ER, cytoplasm, and is secreted. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be widely expressed including in keratinocytes and colonic and small intestinal epithelial cells. This protein is known to be cleaved. Other names for this target antigen include ICH-2. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
