H2-Ab1 is an alias of the human H2AB1 gene, which encodes the protein, H2A.B variant histone 1. Notably, H2-Ab1 is known to play a role in mRNA processing, among other functions. The H2AB1 protein is described to be 115 amino acid residues in length and 12.7 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. Other names for this target antigen include histone H2A-Bbd type 1, H2A Barr body-deficient, and H2A histone family member B1.
