Anti-M1AP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein meiosis 1 associated protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 530 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. M1AP is known to be required for meiosis I progression during spermatogenesis. The M1AP gene has been associated with the disease, Spermatogenic failure. Synonyms for this target antigen include meiosis 1 arresting protein, spermatogenesis associated 37, and meiosis 1 arrest protein. M1AP gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some M1AP antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
