Anti-CKA1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CKA1 is a known alias name of the protein casein kinase 2 alpha 1, encoded by the CSNK2A1 gene in humans. This 391-amino acid residue protein is a known catalytic subunit of a constitutively active serine/threonine-protein kinase complex that phosphorylates a large number of substrates containing acidic residues C-terminal to the phosphorylated serine or threonine. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in gastric carcinoma tissue and the expression gradually increases with the progression of the carcinoma.
