Anti-PTCD3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pentatricopeptide repeat domain 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 689 amino acid residues and a mass of 78.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in testes, skeletal muscle and heart tissue. A member of the Mitochondrion-specific ribosomal protein mS39 protein family, PTCD3 is known to be involved with mitochondrial translation. Synonyms for this target antigen include MRP-S39, pentatricopeptide repeat domain-containing protein 3, mitochondrial, 28S ribosomal protein S39, mitochondrial, TRG-15, and COXPD51. PTCD3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some ptcd3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
