Anti-PIKE antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PIKE antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the AGAP2 gene, which encodes ArfGAP with GTPase domain, ankyrin repeat and PH domain 2. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and GTPase activation, among other biological roles. The human version of PIKE has a canonical amino acid length of 1192 residues and a protein mass of 124.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and cerebral cortex. PIKE is a member of the Centaurin gamma-like protein family.
